Greetings of good health to everyone!

I am Mona Clifton, RN, BSN.  I am starting my 16th year as a school nurse with Comanche ISD.  I serve the health care needs of all students (and occasionally the staff).  I have 40 years experience in nursing - mostly working in the hospital setting.  I am a graduate of the University of Texas System School of Nursing with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.   I am married to Ronnie and have 3 grown daughters all who have graduated from Comanche High School, finished their degrees from Texas universities and have amazing professions that they were well prepared for in part by the faculty of CISD.  I have three adorable grandsons.

I manage student health records, administer state-mandated screenings, administer first aid and medications, supply and conduct a health clinic , provide health information to parents and teach preventative health education to students of all levels, teach CPR to our coaches and faculty, provide dental health lessons, and serve staff with state-mandated programs.

I belong to the National Association of School Nurses where I have access to many resources that can be helpful for your child.  I try to dispense wisdom and encouragement and TLC.  Many times I will call you even if it is not necessary just to let you know I saw your child in the nurse's clinic that day.

Please feel free to contact me if you have concerns about your student’s health.
